The Hunger Games
The
Hunger Games is the most fascinating movie yet. I like it because most of the
movie is silent, silent movies are different and unique. Those movies are very
historical, I like them a lot. It caught my attention how the director decided
to create a silent movie in 2012. This movie takes place in a nation called
Panem, which I never heard of before. It has a lot of action, adventure and
also love, family love, the priceless kind. It’s a science fiction movie, which
is not hard to tell most scenes are just too unreal.
However, the book The Hunger Games is way
better than the movie, it has more details about the story. According to David
Denby, The
Hunger Games is a prime example of commercial hypocrisy. “The filmmakers bait
kids with a cruel idea, but they can’t risk being too intense or too graphic he
books are more explicit” (David). The book begins with a nice, well-explained introduction, which says a lot
about the writer “Suzanne Collins”. The book is written in the voice of
“Katniss Everdeen”, who lived in Panem. The games are an annual event in which
one girl and one boy-aged twelve-eighteen from each of twelve districts is
selected by the lottery to complete in a televised battle to death. Only one
shall live. I enjoyed watching the movie, but I wasn’t that impressed, and Rick
Oxo agrees with me “The jiggly camera was awful, way too many close-ups, a few
too many shots of silly people in the crowd and a few too many changes that
didn’t help, but overall it was a pretty good movie made from a very good
trilogy that is worth reading” (Rick Oxo). Rick Oxo on March 25, 2012 at 4:40 PM
Sometimes, people specially teenagers think
that watching a movie is better than to read the actual book. Yeah, I admit it
going to the movies is pretty fun and all; But what if the movie doesn’t make
you believe, feel or live the story? Would it still be better? No, not at all
first of all the longest a movie can last are three to four hours. Man, you
wasted $12 for nothing. When you read the book, you learn more about the story,
that scene that was cut from the movie is written down on the book.
In conclusion,
reading a book is better than watching the movie. I mean you can watch the
movie, but when you read you feel like you’re living the story, instead of just
watching it. The movie was good, it was one of my favorites of 2012, however
the book deserves thumbs up and five stars, and it’s a masterpiece. What I love
more about it is that if you really pay attention to what you read, it can take
you to a whole new world. This book can truly make you feel what’s like to
experience “THE HUNGER GAMES”
