Worst Thing Parents Can Do

The worst thing parents can do their children is beat them. This happens quite frequently. Many children are even killed. My mom works at St. Francis Hospital and she has seen several cases where children are beaten by their parents. The worst she’s seen was a young girl around the age of 3 she was scalped, beaten, and bit by her father. The young girl died on her way to the hospital.

According research done by Dr. Vincent Ianneli more than 1.25 million or 1 in every 58 children in the U.S, were abused in 2006. Also, on average nearly 4 children die every day as a result of abuse from their parents. This is horrific every day that passes a child has just been killed. Many parents take their anger out on their children but there are other ways to relieve stress instead of beating children.

             Children are unable to understand why they are being abused. On counseling.com C.J. Newton says, “…child abuse where the victim and the perpetrator interact constantly, the person will be sent through a psychological maze of smoke and mirrors leading to any number of bizarre ideas about how to avoid the attack…” He also says that children develop social problems from abuse. Children later in life are scared to try new things and never exercise their mind. This keeps children from reaching their full potential. Also, many children even commit suicide

Monkeys

Monkeys are primates that live in trees in tropical countries. There are New World monkeys, which are the five families of primates that are found in Central and South America. They are small to medium size. Monkeys are considered to be smart and unlike apes, they usually have tails. New World monkeys have small tails and Old World monkeys non-visible tails. What they eat depends on the species but is most of the time fruit, leaves, seeds, nuts, flowers, eggs, and small animals.  

The ape, New World monkeys, and Old World monkeys share some like the types of noses, cheeks and the wrinkles they look very different from each other. Some of the New World species are Pygmy Marmosets, Squirrel monkey, Spider monkey and many more. Some of the old world monkeys are Golden Snub Nose monkey, Patas Monkey, Colobus Monkey, Mandrill and more. Each one has its own special acrobatic and vocal abilities depending on the region they live in and the food they eat. Monkeys have very interesting vocal sounds that they use to call each other or announce danger. 

Monkeys life span depends on their species. Some species live for 20 and others for 45 years. Monkeys live in groups called troops. Living in troops allows them to have protection against predators. This helps them have a longer life span. Monkeys groom each other to create a bond between there own species.

In some areas, monkeys are considered pests because they cause many damages to agriculture. Monkeys that live in tourist areas are also considered pests because they attack the tourists. This causes humans to hunt them affecting endangered monkey species. 

Some organizations help people by training capuchin monkeys as helpers. They assist people with mobility problems and mental disabilities. Monkeys help them by doing tasks around the house like microwaving food, washing the patients face or opening drinking bottles. Before they are placed in a home they go through hard trainings since they are born. They are socialized in human homes and trained to know how to do the tasks and become comfortable around humans. When the trainer feels a monkey is ready he then finds a patient in need for assistance and places the monkey in their home.

In conclusion, monkeys are very interesting animals. Even though monkey have attacked and even killed human’s people seem fascinated with the idea of having them as pets. Many queens have had monkey as pets especially in the early years. Monkeys have been around for a long time and are a good subject to research.

Attitudes in the CST

        The point of the CST is to see how much students have been learning, some student take this seriously but there are a couple that they just don’t care and they don’t want to put some effort on it because they think that is just to wasted your time. The teacher told us that this is so important for  us because the CST is for money or scholarships that it depends what score you   get ,so that  they could give you money .

          There are some students that take this so serious what teacher say, but some of them just don’t care .  This what I did when the teacher told me that , I went home and the first thing I  did was to eat then I sat down in the chair and I started studying and reviewing  what that teacher gave us, else I looked at book and in the internet, I just want to be sure that I understand those questions and even if  it was hard, I looked at the notes that the teacher give us and I put some effort ,when I see the clock, it was already 8:30 so I took a shower ,then I went to sleep like around  9:30 ,it was the first time that I went to sleep at the time.                 

          At the next day I woke up early, I ate some cereal and I prepared myself some sandwiches so that during the break of the CST,I could eat my sandwich, than I started walking to school but when I get to school I didn’t know were to go so ask  some student and he told me that homeroom , and I went to homeroom. I took a seat and some girls were passing up the test. When  I got mine , I opened and I began to start doing it but during the CST I see some people tried to distracted me but I ignored them, it was hard but I didn’t give up, until I finished.

Synaesthesia

Synaesthesia is a joining together of sensations that are normally experienced separately. Some people with this experience colors when they hear or read words, others may experience tastes, smells, shapes or touches in almost a lot of different combinations. The sensations are automatic and cannot be turned on or off. People are generally born with it and it runs in families. It is not considered to be harmful in any way.

Synaesthesia effects a little over one percent of the population meaning it’s not that very common. However, the most common type of synaesthesia is colored days of the week and less common types of synaesthesia is when you taste shapes, colored music, and odors having taste. Color is the most common experience of synaesthesia.

There are five senses: vision, hearing, touch, taste and smell. It could be like vision-hearing, vision-touch, hearing-touch and it goes on. There would be 20 potential types of Synaesthesia: patterns with numbers, letters, words, and names are also get mixed up in this and the list gets greater.

With the alphabet there can be synaesthesia that agree with the same colors they see but every synaesthesia is different but the most common ones are A=red, B=blue, and C=yellow etc. It is possible for a person that has synaesthesia to have more the one type of synaesthesia.

Synaesthesia doesn’t affect your IQ and they do not stand out from other people. Lab reports show that the benefit of having synaesthesia is they have a better memory. There have been reports that they can learn languages better but this could be related to the known benefits to memory.  On the negative side, many people with synaesthetees report having difficulties with numbers and get left/right confused.

Immigrants Deserve Citizenship

Unauthorized immigrants deserve to have citizenship. They are here to help their family with whatever they are in need of. To help, they would need to make some money. In order to make the money they are willing to work anywhere, such as a waiter, janitor,  in a car wash, delivering newspapers and much more. The reason they work these low paying jobs is to put food on the table for their kids, so they can stay healthy.

                                            The day that change my life

  The day that change my life is when I came to the United States.  It changed my lifefor many reasons. When I came to the United States it was the most important thing that ever happened to me.

             One important thing that change my life is when I started high school in the United states. It changed my life because I didn’t speak English and I didn’t understand what the students and teachers said. Also I didn’t have any friends in the school and I was alone. Now I do speak English and I have a lot friends in the school. Now im about to graduate  from high school. 

         Another reason that changed my life in the United States is the people who live here. They have different kind of life from their countries.  It different  because in ourcountries we don’t have the same economic lifestyle like in the United States. Also in the United states.   Also in the united states we have more opportunities to study.

 My family also change my life. One reason is because they bring me to the UnitedStates to have a better life. Another reason  is to learn another language   to see how life is in the united states.

      I think this experience is a good experience because it changed my life. I do know that I will be here in the United States to have a better life and with other people.  This experience could happen to other people that come from other countries.

Baseball

In 1850 baseball started to grow in North America; especially in New York. It wasn’t until 1876 the National League was found. Later, the American league was found which agreed with the National League to formalized relation between them and the National Association of Professional Baseball league. Each league has three divisions, East, west, and central. Every year the major league champion is determined by playoff. 

Baseball is the leader sport in Cuba and Japan, and they have similar leagues that are split between two leagues, Japan’s Central and Pacific league and Cuba’s East and West league. In Japan Central and Pacific league the pitcher is required to bat. In American, Pacific, and both league in Cuba there are ten players, because one is designated to bat for the pitcher. In all league each team has an extra team so the new player can develop the skill and if they are doing good they can be transferred to the main team.

Baseball is a sport that is played with nine players and each team has from 25 to 30 players. In each team there are doctors, coaches, managers, and trainers. The stadium is very big. It has the shape of a diamond and has four bases. The player needs to run through all four bases to score runs, a player can stop in any of the bases and later advance when a teammate hit again. The team switch between batting and fielding if one team gets three outs. Baseball is base in inning; a professional game has nine innings. There are many ways that the fielding team can get out, one is that the batter swing three times without hitting that ball, another is to catch the ball without it touching the floor before catching it.

Every sport has equipment that protects the player if he gets hurt during the game. The most protected player in a baseball game catcher because a ball that the maximum speed is 90 mph could hit him. The catcher use a helmet that protect his face and his head, he uses a chest and leg protection, he uses a special glove to be able to catch without being hurt. The guy that is batting uses a helmet to protect his head and elbow protection as well. The rest of the player use uniform, normal gloves, and glasses; mostly the outfield player is the one who use glasses to be able to catch the ball avoid the sunlight.

Baseball is a sport that has a lot of fans, the global baseball institution celebrates a classic every four-years to see who is the best country at this sport. The top countries that join the classic every four-year are United State, Cuba, Japan, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Venezuela, Dominican Republic, and Canada.

Valentin is Dead

            In November 25 of 2006, the news announced that in the city of Reynosa, Tamaulipas, two Suburban vehicles were used in a drive by, killing three persons. One of them was the famous singer Valentin Elizalde. Everyone thought that the news was lying like before, but this time was true.

         Valentin was leaving his concert in Reynosa when bullets were fired at his van killing him, his manager Mario Mendoza and the driver Raymundo Ballesteros. Valentin was hit as many as eight times. The AK47 rifles completely destroyed the singer’s van. 70 bullet cartridges of the automatic rifles were found on the street around the vehicle. They were instantly dead when they got hit.

         According to the news one of the reasons he got killed was because he sang Narco Corridos. A type of Mexican music, that is about the lords of the Mafia. The singer wrote a song honoring one of the richest people of the world “El Chapo Guzman” the leader of the Sinaloa cartel.  In this song he talked bad about the enemies of El Chapo. He just thought he wasn’t doing anything bad, he was only doing his job.

       Everyone thinks that “los Zetas” a group of mercenary forces were the ones who kill Elizalde. He sang the song in Reynosa his last perform. He just felt protected by El Chapo but he didn’t know that he was in territory of the enemies. With thousands of people in the concert, provable one of them told the Zetas that Valentin sang a song talking bad about them.

         There have been more cases like this one in Mexico. Singers have been gunned down crudely. Provable that’s what they get for getting involved with the Mafia.

MMA

In mma there are many different weight classes depending on the organization. There are many different mma organizations in the U.S the most famous one are Strikeforce and the UFC. Japan organization Pride was the UFC biggest completion until the UFC purchaed it.

                There are different rules in MMA depending  on the organization. In Japan they allow knee and

foot stops stomps  to the head on the opponent while they are on ground and does not allow elbows to the face of a grounded opponent. In the UFC the elbows on the ground are legal and footsteps are illegal. In Brazil both foot stomps and elbows are llegal    on the ground.

                Mma has around since the ninety’s but really became famous in 2005 after the first season of the Ultimate Fighter. After that the show continued and more organizations were created. The fighters that were cut from the UFC went to smaller organizations. Most of them went to Japan and fought for Pride. When the UFC purchased Pride most of the fighters went to the UFC.

The UFC purchase the WEC which was an organization for the lighter fighters such as feather and bantam weights. The WEC also had the heaver weight division but the heavier fighters went to the UFC and the lighter fighters stay in the WEC. At the end of 2010 the UFC merged with the WEC so all the fighters were transfer to the UFC.

                In April the UFC purchased Strikeforce. The organization is still under a different CEO and they have their own events. Strikeforce is broadcast on Showtime not on Pay per View and Strikeforce has a cross over with DREAM fighters can fight in both promotion. Since the UFC purchased Srikeforce they can have unification bouts the first unification bout will take place on October twenty ninth. The bout will take place in the Welterweight division the compeitors the UFC champion George  St Pierre  and the Strike force Champion Nick Diaz.

Jimi Hendrix’s Drug Addiction

            Jimi Hendrix, ledendary guitarist, had a major drug problem. Hendrix had stated that he used drugs to ease the pain from his parachute incident he suffered while in the air-force, which is by the way how he got discharged from the air-force.

            Jimi’s favorite drug of choice was LSD, which is a psychedelic drug. He would soak his bandana in LSD and then tie it around his head. However, when he wanted to get a better high he would make a small cut on his forehead so his body would absorb it faster. He was also known for doing other crazy things to get high.

            The other drugs Jimi heavily used were cannabis and alcohol. Hendrix never hid the fact that he smoked from his father because his dad knew if Jimi’s mom were around she wouldn’t have cared. Jimi’s mom had died while he was really young but he said that he didn’t feel bad because he will always remember his “ma” as being really groovy.

            Jimi Hendrix had a couple run-ins with the law because of his drug addiction. In 1968 he got arrested for his wild behavior at an international hotel. One of Jimi’s girlfriends said that he beat her one time with a public phone handset because he thought  she was calling  another man,  he was  drunk while the incident happened. Many friends and band-mates said that Hendrix would become really angry and violent when he would drink.

Too many peoples dismay “Purple Haze” is not about the acid he would take, was actually about a dream he had. The dream might have been inspired by a “trip” he had while on the acid but other than that it was about a dream, in which he is underwater and feels all good vibrations and colors. So much of his music was written because of his drug use but was not the main purpose of the music and if not for the drugs none of his music would have existed.
