Dodger Stadium
Vs.
Angel Stadium
Dodger Stadium and Angel Stadium are only
fifty miles apart. Yet, they are both so different from one another. They are
different in the sense that Dodger Stadium is dirty compared to Angel Stadium.
The restrooms at Dodger Stadium are disgusting. Some of them are clean but
there are many that are disgusting to use. How would you like to pee in a pipe
where everyone can see you? That’s how some restrooms are in Dodger Stadium.
Compared to Dodger Stadium, Angel Stadium has really nice restrooms. There are
always workers going in there to clean it up so that it will not smell as bad
as Dodger Stadium.
The seats at Angel Stadium are clean as well. Not only
that, but they come with a cup holder for your drink as well. That is something
Dodger Stadium does not have. One thing both stadiums do have is designated
smoking areas. There is no need worry about second hand smoke. That is a good
way to keep a stadium clean. Not
only does this stuff keep the stadium clean, but it keeps it safe as well.
One thing Dodger Stadium is not good at is being safe.
Last year during a weekend home stand against the San Francisco Giants a Giants
fan was beaten in the parking lot by three Dodger fans. The fan was left
unconscious. He was in coma for several months. Not only was he a Giants fan,
but he was a paramedic in San Francisco as well. The people that beat him up
were gangsters. That is the majority of the fans that go to Dodger Stadium.
That is why a lot of fights break out inside the stadium. An opposing Dodger
Fan went to the stadium and she explained her visit while supporting the
opposing team “You have trashy people who scream
into your face about 2 inches from it. I've been to many MLB games around the
country and the Dodgers fans are probably the worst around. I'm all for
cheering on your team, but when they accost you because you are wearing an
opposing team's hat...that is just unacceptable! The people can go back to the
cages (or countries) they came from. I was exiting the stadium quietly and a
man screamed into my face. I said sternly, "Do Not Yell in My
Face"...I was then PUNCHED in the back of the head. These people are trash
and stay away unless you wish to get stabbed, shot, punched, etc.”(LD_CA)
A way to prevent this is by adding more security.
Dodger Stadium lacks security unlike
Angel Stadium. At Angel Stadium you never hear of fights breaking out or people
getting beat up in the parking lot. This is because they have security everywhere.
They have security in all levels of the stadium and patrolling the parking lot
as well. They also have one usher assigned to every section at the stadium as
well. They will always run and check up on you if there is a foul ball hit to
you. So to keep it safe Angel Stadium is the place to go as well if you want to
save money.
Stadiums are not meant to be cheap. They are all
expensive but some more than others. At Angels Stadium tickets range from 5
dollars, the cheapest, to 155 dollars, the most expensive. Dodger Stadium
ticket prices range from 10 dollars all the way to 160 dollars. It isn’t much
of a difference but the parking makes up for the ticket prices. Parking at
Dodger Stadium is a STAGGERING 15 DOLLARS!! That is more than most stadiums by
a large amount. Most stadiums parking lots cost from 8-12 dollars. The parking
lot for Sun Life stadium, the old Marlins Stadium, is only 5 dollars. At
Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida, the first 1000 cars get parking for
free. Angel Stadium doesn’t offer free parking but it is only 8 dollars! Who
wants to pay an extra 3-10 dollars for parking when you can spend it on
something better? Someone visiting from out of the country stated, “we thought $15.00 was a bit steep for parking”(Andy123Northampton).
Not only that, but you need to walk uphill as well. “The park is awkward for people with
disabilities, far to much walking”(swtkitten6).
Food is expensive at
stadiums as well. Other than the tickets, that is where most of your money
goes. Dodger Stadium is famous for their Dodger Dog. The Dodger Dog costs
around 6 dollars. Damn things are
not even worth it. Yea the sausage is around 9 inches long but it is less than
1 inch thick! The Carl’s Jr. at Dodger Stadium is stupid expensive. You have to
pay nearly three times the amount you would pay at a regular Carl’s Jr. a
dodger fan stated “food was average, soft drinks were
less than average quality”(Kukui_Aloha). At Angel Stadium you
can get your money worth with the All-Star Dog. It is a foot long hot dog that
is more than 1 inch thick. Surprisingly it only cost 8 dollars compared to the
Dodger Dog. It takes around two
Dodger Dogs to fill a person up. The All-Star Dog will probably get you full by
the time you are halfway done with it. All this stuff makes Angel Stadium less
expensive than Dodger Stadium.
Overall if you desire to go to a stadium in Southern
California choose Angel Stadium over Dodger Stadium. It is cleaner than Dodger
Stadium. It is a lot safer at Angel Stadium compared to Dodger Stadium.
Although both stadiums are around the same price, you get better merchandise at
Angel Stadium. So if visiting California, Angel Stadium is the one stadium you
don’t want to miss out

Great article.
ReplyDeleteI live in Burbank, so I’m a lot closer to Dodgers Stadium than to Angels Stadium. I went to a Red Sox game back in September (Go SOX!), and there were more Sox fans than Angels fans there! Even though we lost (what a terrible season 2012 was), the only incident I encountered was someone yelling “SWEPT!” as they were on their way out…yeah we were swepted by the Angels. Other than your typical “Go Angels!”, nothing negative happened the whole time I was there. I felt safe at all times, and my wife and I had an awesome time.
Come 2013, next year, during Interleague Games, my Sox will be playing the Angels in July and the Dodgers in August. I told my wife I’d rather drive another 50 miles to OC than to Chavez Ravine (is that how you spell it?). I’ve been to a non-sporting event at Dodgers Stadium, even then I did not feel safe for one second. With all the gangbangers and scary-looking-people-with-tattoos-on-their-neck, I will never, ever, EVER, EVER catch a game at Dodgers Stadium. If I want to get punched, stabbed, or shot, I will go to Dodgers Stadium.
