“The
Amazing Spiderman”
“The Amazing Spiderman” is a great new
movie, released in summer 2012. Although the plot differs from the original
franchise of 2002, it is still a great thriller. Spiderman’s different
superpowers in this film make the plot more interesting. The new characters keep
viewers wondering what will happen next. The change of actors makes this movie
a whole new performance.
Spiderman does not posses all the powers
from the original franchise. “There's nothing nearly that fresh, fun
or emotionally satisfying in "The Amazing Spider-Man," a much-hyped,
expensive-looking and ultimately soulless reboot” (Guzmá The new film is in fact very
exciting due to the fact that he cannot shoot webs from his hands. Peter Parker
used his ingenuity to construct a web-like shooting mechanism. This was a bit
disturbing because one could never tell if he would run out of “web”, keeping
fans on the edge of their seats.
With Dr.Curt Connors as the villain in this
film, the battles are unpredictable. As the Lizard mutant, his fights with
Spiderman keep viewers on with a feeling of adrenaline. This mutant creature is
an entertaining foe to watch because his speed, strength, and agility match
Spiderman’s. With the introduction of captain George Stacy, he is portrayed as
an obstacle for Spiderman’s vigilante work and Peter Parker’s pursuit of his
Daughter Gwen. The twist of Captain Stacy’s views towards Spiderman comes as a
shock to fans.
With the start of a whole new movie
franchise, a new cast is introduced. “Yes, there are
variations; "Amazing" isn't a carbon copy. And, to some extent, there
are improvements” (Charity). Andrew
Garfield does an excellent job portraying Peter Parker and Spiderman. He comes off
as a socially awkward but intelligent and determined teenager who stands up for
what he believes in. Emma Stone’s transformation into Gwen Stacy makes a cute
and intelligent girlfriend for Peter.
