Harassment

Harassment

Everyone get harassed no matter what your sexuality is some people get bullied for being black or white or Mexican, while others get bullied for being gay or lesbian, others for their height or weight. So the truth is that in high school you get bullied either way it all just depends how you take it you can either go and crawl in your room and cry about it or you can make a difference.
In life everyone has someone that bullies him or her. Either it’s at home or it’s at school. Some people even have it in both places. Teens need to learn how to take negative things and make them positive. Everyone has gone through bulling. Everyone from the president of the United States to your next door neighbor but you just need to stick up for yourself and say its enough and just channel all that negative energy into a positive outcome. An example of taking a negative energy and putting it into a positive energy is when someone tells you; you cannot do something or you’re too short or too fat to do that. You go out and you prove them wrong and you show them that you could and you did do it. Everyday were faced with challenges in life but all depends how you take it. Some people decide they can't take anymore so they kill themselves. But why would you kill yourself if that’s just gonna give your bully what they want?
The people that get bullied the most are teenagers. Most of the bullying happens at school, but there is a way to stop this, and its by standing up for yourself or sometimes when someone tells you something the best thing that you can do is just ignore them because its better that way they might keep trying to bully you but once they see that it doesn’t bug you they wont bother you anymore.

Friendship

Friendship
In the novel "Of Mice and Men" by John Steinbeck says friendship is an important part of people’s lives. Many of us need companionship in our lives to be happy and enjoy the good situations together. The story shows us two main characters that go everywhere together and how they look out for each other when in need. When we have someone next to us, we can talk about whatever problems we have and help out each other. Friendship is important for many reasons like company, unconditional support, and loyalty. This keeps us from being and feeling lonely in our lives.
Companionship is a good thing in our life to be happy and alive. We can’t be alone; eventually it gets dull and drives us crazy not having someone there. For example in the novel Crooks says, “Books ain’t no good”. He says this because he wants to have company there with him so he can talk with them, and books just tells stories about real life events. Many people do not see how it affects others emotions, feelings and mind. Mentally it drives people crazy being lonely because they have no communication with anyone else. People cannot express themselves if their lonely, so eventually it affects them and might even lead to suicide.
Having a friend there is also good for many to ask them for help. Support is a big affect we need in our lives because it helps us do a lot of goals. Knowing that we have support we will accomplish anything we set our mind too. For example George and Lennie had each other back when ever one of them were in trouble. George says “ I hid with him in the ditch all night then we left…” his quote shows us that Lennie was in big trouble when the girl accused him of rape. George could have easily left him there and gone out on his own, but he took Lennie with him and saved him from getting killed. Lennie also says “An’ why? Because…Because I got you to look after me, and you got me to look after you, and that’s why.” This quote shows us that Lennie has Georges back if he’s in trouble, and George has Lennies back if he’s in trouble.
Friendship is not only built on support and company, but loyalty is also needed for us to trust people to tell them our problems. Many of us have a hard time finding someone who will be real with us. In the novel George and Lennie are very loyal to each other in many ways. For example George always does not talk bad about Lennie even though he has mental problems. “ He may not listen and be retarded but he’s a good fella”, this quote shows us that no matter what problems Lennie gives him, George will not talk bad about him with others or about his problems. George will always stay true to Lennie because he keeps him company and has his back no matter the circumstances.
In the end friendship is an important key in life to help us live. Little keys in friendship are comfort, trust, and support. Without the factors of friendship many people would not be where they’re  now in life.

A Little Bit About A Cornerback

A Little Bit About A Cornerback

Cornerback is a position in American/European Football. Cornerbacks cover receivers, to defend against pass offenses, make tackles and cover areas on the field. Cornerback should be the quickest players in the team because they need fast reactions to stop the wide receiver, running back, or tight end. They also need fast reactions to try to get an intercept.

The basic fundamentals of a cornerback are the stance, backpedal, and brake. The stance is very important; if you have the wrong stance it could put that whole rep. to waste and might make your self look so bad that the coach would take you out in a heart beat. A good stance is a toe to instep or toe to heel alignment. The feet are a shoulder width apart. The weight should be on the balls of the feet, to turn quicker.

The job of a cornerback is to stay right next to the wide receivers and prevent passes. One way of preventing passes is to intercept any pass that comes their way. An average cornerback will intercept about 5 passes a season. Some cornerbacks are so good at covering the receiver that the quarterbacks won't throw to any receiver that the corner is covering. Another favorite way for the cornerback to stop a pass is bating the pass down.

They also trying push the receiver out of bounds before he catches the ball, or tackle him. Most cornerbacks don’t really like to tackle; the reason for this is because cornerbacks are all about technique and not so much about strength. Therefore if they tackle there is a great chance they will get hurt.

Attitudes and Behaviors Towards the CST 4

CST

Every year all students take a test called the CST. The CST test contains important school subjects some of these subjects are English, Math, and History. The CST testing is provided by the California school district that distributes it in order to check how well the schools have taught the subject.
The district finds it important for the students to take the test because it reflects on the school and how it’s well it’s progressing. The school takes time before the test is actually given out and tries to prepare the students. Some students though just don’t care for it at all, and just don’t pay attention at all.
The students not paying attention to the teachers when they are trying to prepare them is why so many of them don’t get good scores. These students though never show interest because every year, it’s the same. The teachers try and prepare them, pre-test them, and in the end they all don’t pay attention or even pass the pre-tests because the test seems never ending and too boring.
On the day of the actual test students don’t try their hardest because they know it wont effect them at all. Students also tend to whine about how it’s never ending and too difficult, in my own opinion, I also think the tests are too long and occasionally difficult.
So, are these tests actually necessary? The school and district seem to think it is but we don’t actually care. We don’t learn anything new from them, we know it won’t effect us, and it’s basically all just a review.

Me

I’m a very difficult person. When it comes to making decisions, I can get stuck for hours just thinking of making the right choice. This asset has made me think a lot about becoming a dentist. It’s what I want to help people out, put a smile on their faces, but then the negative stuff pops into my head. Will I be successful, will I be able to pass all my classes and can I really achieve my dream? These thoughts make me consider other stuff that may be easier.
I was born in Boyle Heights in the White Memorial Hospital on December 22, 1992. I’m Mexican but I was born in Los Angeles. My height is average, I stand at five feet and nine inches and weigh around one hundred and eighty pounds. I am currently 17 years old and attend Bell High School. I’m that one kid in school with the messy hair and the folder in his hand.
My family is small. It consists of six people; my mother, father, two brothers, a sister, and myself. We have my mother who is the hard working lady that goes to work and still comes back home to do all the chores and cook for the family. Then we have my father. He used to be a regular man who worked in order to maintain his family. That was until he hurt his back and wasn’t able to do much. And who can forget my sister. She is a weird little girl. She laughs a just about anything. Her name is Stephanie. She can get pretty annoying at times but I guess that’s just the way girls are. My oldest brother’s name is Erick. He is about 26 years old and acts like he’s seventeen. I say this because he’s always cracking jokes and likes messing around but he is actually very responsible. Last but not least is my brother Aaron. He’s about 25 years old. He served for the Marines for 5 years. The Marines is probably what made him the very strict, mature, and serious. There are a few laughs here and there but most of the time he’s serious.
Wrestling. There are many things to say about it but then again there isn’t.

The Start of the Rastafair Movement

The Start of the Rastafari Movement
The Rastafari draw their beliefs from the bible, which they believe to have been incorrectly translated from the Aramaic and, for that reason, to contain some mistakes. They believe that through experience they can interpret it correctly. They also believe that their savior Jah will bring them to Africa, the land of freedom.
In 1517 Jamaica started importing African slaves. Not happy with the way their white masters treated them, many slaves escaped. Even after the end of slavery many black people desired to go back to Africa, because they remained unhappy with their miserable lives like bad nourishment
In 1916 Marcus Garvey, who was considered a prophet by the Rasta’s, formed the Universal Negro Improvement Association. In 1929 he said that redemption would come when a black king would be crowned. Although the king had to descent from king David. On November 2, 1929 Negus Tamari, who was said to be descendent from king David, was crowned king of Ethiopia. He then received the name Haile Salassie the first. It was then when the Rastafari believed their salvation had arrived.
In 1937, after the Rastafari movement had started, Haile Salassie created the Ethiopian World Federation. In 1938, he also opened a branch in Jamaica giving the movement more confidence. By 1940 Leonard Howell, who was a member of the U.N.I.A., established the first Rasta community at Pinnacle, Jamaica. After Haile Salassie’s visit to Jamaica, it was settled that their country came to be regarded as a spiritual rather than literal country. Therefore, the movement developed a more active, political role in Jamaica.
Despite Haile Salassies death in August 1975, Rasta’s still believe he is alive and always will be. Throughout time the movement has spread from Jamaica to other parts of the world like the United States and Europe. It is estimated that there are more than 100,000 Rastafarians in Jamaica.

Egypt

If I had a plane ticket and money to spend in any city of the world I would love to go to Egypt. The main reason why is because I am really curious about the pyramids and I want to see them because is just so incredible how they built them since most of them are enormous. It is amazing how without any kind of technology and only with their hands they managed to construct such a beautiful architecture.
Other reason why I would like to go to Egypt is to learn their language, traditions, history, and most importantly, culture. Staying there for at least 2 years, or more if possible, enroll in school and take classes such as History and others related to their culture. By doing this it would also help me to learn more and practice their language.
Changing the sight a little, changing the routine, relaxing, experimenting a different environment, and meeting new people wouldn’t be so bad either.  It would be great opportunity to learn about a lot of new things I didn’t think I would learn.

Why Do They Lead Us On?

Raquel F.

Why Do They Lead Us On?
Most of us have applied to a job or multiple jobs, and yet most of us don’t hold a job. Why do companies do that to us? Why do they bring our hopes up for nothing?
Do companies really have to get your hopes up for nothing? We hand these people a resume that should tell them all they have to know about us, and if we are capable of holding this job. We as students know what jobs we can hold or what jobs we have a chance of getting. Applying to these types of jobs, such as fast food restaurants or clothing stores should be easy and should not require a major requirements system and no processing or no calls for interviews. They should just call you on a first serve basis, this would save both time and save the hurt people get when they don’t get a job. They bring their hopes up and start planning things because they are sure that they are going to get the job. When they realize they aren’t going to get the job they get sad because what they planned can’t be done anymore.
Having applied to many jobs in the past I know the frustration and the nervousness you get when trying to get the job. My very first time was when I applied to Guess. They had called me less than a week after I had turned in my application and gave me a job interview with another five people tying to get that same job. How is one to compete when you have people with work experience and us young people are unskilled? And yet they see you don’t have a chance of getting the job and they still have the nerve to say they will call you in a couple of weeks. It never seems to bring you too down. You always see the same people trying to find a job and never stop because there are always job opportunities. The process would be a lot better and more efficient if the companies would be a lot more easy going and less strict on work experience, because some of us have never held a job in our lives. For this to change we need to stand up and protest the way of getting jobs, the fear of no one feeling the way we feel changes us and doesn’t allow us to stand up and do something about it.
I don’t let these bad experiences discourage me; I just shake it off and keep going. I would like to start a change in the way they hire people but I also let the fear of being different get in the way and change my real views into the social views of everyone else. I hope one day I can change the companies’ way of hiring, but until then I and everyone else will have to deal with this and just make the best out of it.

A Problem In Bell High School

A problem in Bell High School

I attend a very dirty school where we have trashed up hallways, tagged up classrooms, and messy students who never pick up after themselves, and all of this concludes to a very disgusting campus. The reason we have a dirty campus is because the students who attend Bell High School are not disciplined enough to keep their school clean where they spend most of their day. This has become a problem because of our griminess. Our school can obtain a better reputation in terms of cleanliness if we solve this problem.
Our school has a big problem when it comes to keeping our campus clean. For instance, the trashed up hallways, tagged classrooms, smelly restrooms, and other dirty areas like the lunch areas. It does not only show how little some students care, but it also shows how ignorant some students can be. Most of these examples shows how little of appreciation students have towards what our school supplies us with, like books, tables, material, etc.
. During lunch some students do not bother throwing away their trash, and they expect others to pick it up for them. On other occasions, when students do not have any trash nearby they will just leave it on the ground and it will be stepped on and the ground will be sticky and it will become a mess.
If we try to keep our campus cleaner, it would not only look better, but we will also save money that is usually being wasted on paint to cover up tagging, and on new books that are usually torn apart or tagged on.
A dirty campus leads to roaches, rats, sticky floors, smelly hallways, etc. We need to sanitize our school so that it will not lead to anything serious.
Some solutions to this problem can be to supply our school with more trashcans. We should also have more days when students can get to clean the campus. Instead of having detention, they can have trash pick-up instead of having them sit in a room for hours not doing anything.
Beyond said, a majorly problem in our school is the indecency towards our campus. We do not want our school to look bad by having it tagged or vandalized. We can definitely make a change in our school by being courteous and treating our campus like a home.

Forms of Prejudice In The Novel Of Mice And Men

Jeffrey

Forms of Prejudice
In the novel Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, Prejudice is a big part of the novel. Prejudice is an unfavorable opinion or feeling formed beforehand or without knowledge, thought, or reason. I will be explaining three forms of prejudice. The three types are ageism, sexism, and racism. I will start off by explaining ageism.
Ageism- discrimination based on age, especially prejudice against the elderly. Candy was a target of ageism, he would get pushed around and commit to so certain actions that he did not agree on. For example, the killing of his dog, Carson kept on bragging to candy that his dog was old and needed to be put to death. Candy strongly disagreed over the killing of his dog, but Carson kept on insisting. Candy knew that no matter what he said the dog was going to be killed anyways. So he just laid on his bed, turn his back and moment later he heard a gunshot. Indicating the death of his dog.
Sexism- discrimination or devaluation based on a person's sex, especially such discrimination directed against women. In the novel, there was a character referred to as Curly’s wife. She was the victim of sexism. As you can see from reading the novel, Steinbeck never gave her a proper name. Which tries to show the audience a form of sexism. The other characters in the book such as Candy, Clerks and Slim would prejudge her and make sexist comments. The men on the farm would refer to her as a “tramp,” a “tart,” or a “Lolo.”
Racism- hatred or intolerance of another race or other races. Characters in the novel would be racist with Crook because he is African American. For example he couldn’t sleep in the same room with all the other workers, let alone step a foot in the room. He was given a room in the barn with the farm animals. An example from the novel would be when Crooks caught Lennie inside his room and told Lennie that he shouldn’t be in there. Crooks then said, “If no colored man was allowed in there room, then no white man was allowed in his room”. Also when Curly’s wife walked into his room and started asking for Curly, Crooks told her to leave because he did not want any problems in an aggressive tone. Curly’s wife then replied by telling him to watch his mouth because she can have him hanged. Crooks didn’t respond and instantly put his head down in fear.
In the novel Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck there were several cases of prejudgment, for example sexism, ageism, and racism. Curly's wife was being discriminated against because she was a female and men would tease and call her names. Candy was also being discriminated because of his age. He had to say goodbye to one of his oldest and loyalist friend. He had no power in stopping Carson because of his age. Last, Crooks was being discriminated over his race. He couldn’t live under the same roof, as the other characters because he is African American. I believe people should get to know things, places, or individuals before judging or leading to false accusations.

“ME”
On April 27,1993 a baby girl was born on  a sunny morning. It was 11:00 am and I was born. My name is Minerva Aguirre. I’m seventeen years old and I’m a proud senior at Bell High School. I’m going to write some things about me. My life, my interest, my passion. In this essay I would write about the thing I know the most about….. ME!
My family and friends are the most important things in my world. Without my family and friends I would be lost. I have always needed my family for support. I live with my brother and dad. My mother passed away when I was in 8th grade. Being the only girl in the house could be tough but I learned how to manage with that. My friends have always been there for me. I think I have a lot of friends I could always count on. I like being friendly and have fun. I couldn’t ask for better friends.
I consider myself a very busy girl. I’m always doing something the whole week. If I’m not singing in choir practice, I’m either at the school auditorium rehearsing for a play or trying to learn how to play guitar. I also go shopping with my cousin. I work a lot in my house. I like to keep my room really clean. I like to keep my closet organized even though sometimes it’s messy because I’m always in a hurry looking for clothes. I also go out with my friends and family. I try to spend time with them. My dad always says that I should always make space to relax and spend time with my friends. He says that even thought I’m a busy girl, I’m also a teen.
And since I’m a teen, I go to school at Bell High School. I’m a proud senior at this high school. I might not be the best student but I try my best to do my class work. I believe that with a good education I could be able to be who ever I want in the future. I think I could accomplish many things with a education. I love to read. I work on the library here in school. The class that I love the most is choir. Its so fun and I love it since I do what I really love to do. I learn a lot about music. I love that class since I get a grade doing the thing I love the most, which is singing.
In the future I would love to work in the entertainment industry. I want to work on television and radio. I would like to be Ryan Seacrest. He has his own radio show on 102.7 kiss fm. He also is the host of American Idol. He is a producer of reality shows as well. I would love to work and meet with famous people. In the future, I want to take acting and singing classes to become a better entertainer. I might be shy but I believe that being in the industry would give me more self-esteem. I also believe that with the entertainment industry I could help people. I would love to do a foundation that would raise money to educate people about diabetes.
I would like to educate people about diabetes since I know that some people might have diabetes without them knowing it. I would like to help find a cure for diabetes. I have diabetes since I was eight years old. It has been hard but I try to live it as normal as possible.  Diabetes might be hard but I always look at it as a game. My goal is to control my sugar levels. I’m part of this diabetes foundation called JDRF.  In this foundation we make fundraisers to get money to find a cure. We also give glucose machine to children in the children hospitals who had been recently diagnose with diabetes. We educate them and we prove them that we could do a normal childhood. With my diabetes I had helped a lot of kids and teenagers
Now you know some things that makes me unique. I have diabetes. I have dreams. I love to sing. I’m a busy teenager and family is the most important thing in my world. This is my life and I couldn’t ask for anything better. I love my life!

New Experiences

New Experiences
Have you ever been forced to leave the United States? I have, two years ago my mother planed a trip to Mexico. When my mother told me about this trip I freaked! Iv never had been outside of the state of California. I didn’t want to go and I made sure she knew that. All she said is “Your going”.
Weeks passed and I came to think that my mom and I weren’t going to Mexico after all. A couple of days later my mom tells me to get my stuff together. I freaked out again; I began to tell me mother that I am not going to Mexico with her, once again. So I came to face the facts. I knew that no mater what I said I was stilling going to end up going.
The trip to Mexico was for one month. I remember sitting in my room wondering how am I going to survive without my friends and technology I didn’t know how I would react to no technology. Mostly everything I do have to do with technology. No fast-food restaurants, no friends, no cell phone! I don’t know how I could live like that.
As I am on my way to the airport with my mom, I am using my phone for the last time to text my friend’s goodbye. It was a very sad moment for me. We finally arrive at the airport. We find our way to the waiting room and board the plane. After a while the plane begins to take off, I turn and look outside the window and say goodbye to the American land.
Six hours later I arrive at Michoacán, Mexico. As soon as I get off the plane I tell my mom sarcastically,” Omg I’m so excited. I can’t wait to explore the lands of Mexico, milk cows and do whatever else they do over here.” She looked at me and told me, “ Watch you eat your words.”  After the conversation my mom and I turned and she spotted two of my uncles waiting for us. They help us with our luggage and walk us to their truck. It turns out that the truck was 3 seater. Therefore I had to go in the back with the luggage and it’s a two-hour ride to my grandpa’s house.
I finally arrived at my grandpa’s house. I walked in into the house with my mom to find lots of unfamiliar faces waiting to greet us. It took me at least 10 minutes to say hi to everyone. I just wanted to go to sleep already; the long trip had me exhausted. So I asked my mom where the bedroom was and she led me there. The next morning I wake up at 5am thanks to my grandpa’s rooster. I walked out of the room and saw one of my cousins and he asked me if I wanted to go fishing with him. I was so mad that I had to come to Mexico that I told him no and went back to the room. I stayed in the room all day.
The next morning the rooster woke me up at 5am again. I see my cousin again and he asks me again if I wanted to go fishing. I gave him the same answer as before. When I walked back to the room, I started thinking to myself that I should just make the best of the trip whether I like it or not. I went back to find my cousin and I asked him if he anted to go fishing. Not only did we go fishing, but also we went out to explore lands and went out to eat.
For the next couple of weeks, I milked cows, went exploring, rode horses, went fishing, and had a lot of fun doing it. The last day my mom told me to pack my bags because we were about to leave. I didn’t want to say goodbye, I didn’t want to leave, but I had to. I then had to say bye to all of my family. My uncles took my mom and I back to the airport. On my way back, I thought to myself that Mexico wasn’t so bad. I actually had a lot of fun. Like my mom said I ate my words.
This experience made me a much more mature person because it taught me not to judge the things until I actually do it or go places. I learned that trying new things or going to a new place is a great experience. It was fun going to a new country and learning the lifestyle of others. Whenever I encounter a chance to go somewhere new, I won’t judge it at all. I’ll go along and make my judgment after I experienced the new place or activity.

A Day That Changed My Life

The day that changed my life was when I first came to Bell High. I’ve been at a private school, Al Hadi School, most of my life. The difference was that the private School were less strict and smaller, and it had less people there. The people that were there were all Arabs. Here at Bell there is a mixture of religions and races. It is a really big change in my life.
The school I went to was on Wilcox and Gage. I would go there at 8:00am till 2:30pm, and on Fridays at 1:50. I have been going to that school since I was three. The years were from 1996 to 2007. Then I came to Bell in the 9th grade. Al Hadi was a traditional school, which you only get off during the summer. Here at bell I got to face different seasons.
The people that were there with me are all my friends that had came along to Bell High. The people there were all  Lebanese. I had  many cousins there and neighbors. When I came to Bell it was a different life; it changed me a lot. You have all the different races here and it shows me the real world.
These were all the people I have been through. The teachers there were all friendly and cared about our work and what we do in school. Al Hadi wasn’t a rich school, it was an acceptable area where you can really hang out with your close friends, and they are the people that you hang out with. The people that were always are at your house.
The difference between here at Bell and my old school Al Hadi was the work.

The High Cost of Gasoline

Gas Price
No matter were you live; the cost of filling up your car with gasoline has increased in recent months. With current economic conditions oil is rising leading to the higher prices as we’re seeing today. Gas prices are increasing little by little and not everyone has the money to fill up his or her car. The car waste, uses, and needs to be full almost every third day, depending on the type of car the person has, sometimes it’s not worth using the car.
California suffers for the gas prices and the people only fill up their car to a half tank. ”Too much money”, that’s what everyone says. Everyone has responsibilities and bills to pay, not everyone can afford to fill up his or her car every time unless; you are okay with the price of the gas.
The transportation of fuels from country to country-cost more and at the same times it brings problems. California and the rest of the States are invading the Middle East, ever since California and the rest of the countries need oil. According to my research the information for which leading the U.S oil companies get their crude oil from the Middle East and how much is as follows:
Shell........................... 205,742,000 barrels
Chevron/Texaco......... 144,332,000 barrels
Exxon /Mobil............... 130,082,000 barrels
Marathon/Speedway... 117,740,000 barrels
Amoco............................62,231,000 barrels
Citgo gas is from South America.
Some cites show similar statistics about how much oil comes from the Middle East and  which the U.S companies purchase it:
Shell purchased 3,611,000 barrels from Kuwait and Saudi Arabia
BP purchased none from the Middle East.
Chevron purchased 14,724,000 from the Middle East.
Citgo-None from the Middle East.
Amoco purchased 3,611,000 barrels from the Middle East.
Exxon-Mobil combined purchased 13,273,000 barrels from the Middle East.
Marathon purchased 10,710,000 in Middle Eastern oil.
Sunoco purchased none from the Middle East.
Conoco purchased 523,000 from the Middle East.
Sinclair-We didn't find any figures.
Phillips-We didn't find any Middle Eastern purchases.
California and other countries have or plan to increase the prices on the gas, however many people don’t like the idea of the gas prices that are increasing because of how the economy is as well as other needs for oil around the world.
In conclusion, high gas prices is what we are facing now especially because its what a car needs. Budget cuts are not that good and what’s next fill your car a certain amount? No I don’t think so. Only certain amount of people will purchase it, while the other half uses transportation. The American people hope that gas prices goes down and for once and  all stay like that.

What I Know About Food

This is Everything I Know About Food

What I know about food is that it needs exact processing and a correct period of time to be cooked. Also the food and ingredients must be fresh and have the best quality. Every different kind of food represents how the person’s mood is. This is because when somebody cooks something when he or she is mad the food is not going to be as good as if it’s prepared with enthusiasm and dedication. Also dishes represent culture and different periods of history.
The Mexican culture has many traditions and for each one of them they a have a different type of food. They have the Independence Day so people used to cook dishes with the colors of the flag. They also have the Day of the Dead so they cook the famous “pan de muertos” and other delicious kind of food for this date. This is just in Mexico but every different country has their own food that makes them unique.
Some people think that food can bring back memories from your childhood. They also say that food is the best way to seduce a person. One of the most important things about food is that keeps families together.

Harassment

                                                       Harassment

Harassment has always been a problem to many people and especially to those that have to go through it everyday. Most of them might not get hit or pushed around but name calling and making fun of people can be much painful and affect a person a lot. This kind of stuff is all around the world, mostly schools all around the world. Students are name called in schools, harassed and abused; not only to those that are so called nerds. But girls suffer the worst kind of harassment. They can be abused or harassed by other male students or even by teachers.
Harassment is always going to be a problem to people in schools and to girls and anyone that doesn't report it on time before anything bad can happen to them or to anyone that is going through it. Most of them don’t report it on time because they might be scared of getting hurt or making the problem get bigger, leaving  them  humiliated  as time passes by. This can cause them to make stupid decisions and some can stop going to school , work or anywhere they are being bullied. Its really painful to the victims and most of them get so fed up with everything and they stop caring about everything and even their lives.
This leads them to take the wrong way out  and commit suicide. This not only affects them but suicide affects the whole family and especially if they have kids. With teenagers it affects their parents and the rest of the family that loves them. Harassment now has gotten worst by the minute and has affected so many people in the ways of name calling, hitting, and also rape. People have to do something and end all this as soon as possible because harassment is ending with the peoples lives and the way they live. If harassment doesn't stop or get under controll in the future this situation is going to get worse and who knows what is going to happen then.

The Day That Changed My Life

The Day That Change My Life

The day that changes my life was the first day I came to Bell. The first thing that caught my eye was the football team. Of course I can’t forget about the cheer leaders2 grader there not anymore. Once I saw the team practice I wanted to join. It looked so hard but every day that I went I kept getting better and better.
The way that this day change my life was all the time was just be thin king of Friday’s night games. Every time that we would work out I would be so sore. Many people started talking to me, people who I didn’t even now who knew I was in football would spend time with me after school and during. Some of the coaches were mean and some were really chill but when we would mess around they would make us drill so much that we will be and the floor laying down after practice with all of are gear on.
One of the people that were there when I enrolled at bell was my mother. She knew how much I loved football and I would tell her so many times to come to the games but she would never come. I would always buy her a ticket but when I would turn around to see if she was there it was empty, but after two minutes I’ll turn around again and my brother Melvin would be there. He never missed a game. I could always hear him screaming, “Come on Bell”. After every game we would always go to a restaurant called Stars and would stay there with all my other teammates till one in the morning just talking about the game. Some times after stars every one would just go to my house and just kick back.
I never though high school would be so great. I used to think that there was no way I was going to make it out off there alive. But some how I did and I did it with good grades. One person helped me with that her name is Yazmin, she’s my best friend and she’s always been there when I need some help. I have been through so many things that the school could have kicked me out but they didn’t because I had good test scores and a good GPA.
Now high school is going to finish for me cause its my last year and I have had so many great teachers that I am not going to forget. However, I have had some really good times here at Bell. Sometimes I think what would my life be like if I dropped out, and I know that it would have been a big mistake if I did. I going to miss having to wake up at six in the morning, but now I have to face the real world and I have to face it and do the best I can to succeed.

Ted Bundy

                                                Ted Bundy
Ted Bundy was man who liked to rape women and kill them. He got away with all of this murder for  only a certain amount of time.  Although it had all started when his girl friend left him. He had found out a couple days later that his mom was his sister and his grandma and grandpa were his real parents. No one knew why his parents did that but that was a mystery that was never solved.
He would travel so far just to kill women. That was one of the reasons why he would get away from many detectives and cops. He would travel to Oregon, Utah, Idaho, Colorado and Florida. Ted would some times change his name or his story about the things he had done. Many people would describe him as an attractive man. Most of the time he would always be wearing a suit to make an impression.
Ted Bundy drove a small yellow car that was really old. The weapons that he had in the car with him was a hammer, small bat, and a heavy rock the size of a mans two hands. He used all of these weapons on his victims, beat them up really bad till they beg for mercy and then finish them off by raping them.  He would sometimes burn the bodies or would let them rot.
Ted knew that he was really sick but never tried to look for any help. Many people who knew him said that he did all this because of a stupid girl.  For a long time he killed and tormented women. He ended up falling in love with this woman who had children and she knew the things that he did but never cared because she loved very much no matter what.
After he got caught the judge told him that he was going to get the electric chair. He had a smile on his face as if he was satisfied. He wife didn’t know anything because he was missing for days and know one knew where he would go. When she heard of what had happen, she had seen it on TV.
When they took him to the chair little did he know that the last woman he tried to rape was a cop. However she was the one that pulled the plug. So many crazy woman love him and everyone would say that cause they though he was a sex addict. His children nor his family and wife didn’t care about his death.

Discrimination

                                                Discrimination
Many people are discriminated against by others. It’s so hard to live every day knowing that someone is going to say something bad about you. African Americans and Hispanics are always being harassed.  Many of these people work really hard and sometimes company’s hire them and they do the work for less money. Other people get laid off and have no where to work.
Discrimination is an atrocious gesture that occurs worldwide. There are two types of discrimination, they are social and categorically race. The declaration of human rights strongly preserves the dignity of all humanity, authoritatively denouncing. Many people are treated really bad all he time and it happens in many different places. For example many people didn’t want Obama to be president just because he was black and it was going to be an abomination.
Discrimination is another way to show ignorance in society. It is unjust and unconstitutional just because it violates the equal rights amendments. In this last century it has been a major transformation in moving forward towards eliminating all forms of different discriminations. From what I have heard of, in Arizona the still discriminate no matter what race u are or where u come from.
Therefore, discrimination is never going to disappear and I say that because it always been around but not as bad as it use to be. I hope that when I have a family and my kids get older they understand not to discriminate against other races. Its always going to be with us and its only going change if we change our ways. That’s all that I know about discrimination.

I am an athlete. My passion is learning how to play different sports and be good at them. One of the things that I’m really good at is football. I like football because you compete with many players and with other schools.
The nickname that a lot of people now know me by is Pancake. I’m in two sports; they are wrestling and football and I’m thinking of joining track so that I could do shot put. I go to Bell High School.I am now a senior and I’m keeping my grades up so that I can get in a good college and play football. After I finish college I plan to become a veterinarian because I like helping animals and I have one myself, his name is Fred.
My family isn’t that big, there are only five of us. I am the youngest and the last one of the family to graduate from Bell. I have two sisters and two brothers. The only ones that live with my mom now are my second oldest brother, named Melvin. Melvin is like my best friend because he’s always there and he’s never missed a game or my wrestling matches.
One thing that changes my life was when I came to Bell and met new people who I’d never even seen and would talk to me. Even the cheerleaders knew my name I was really surprised when they would come up to me and ask me if they can wear my jersey. Therefore, one thing that I really have to do is to keep my grades up and keep my mom happy. One day that I would never forget is when I got in trouble for doing some thing so dumb and breaking into school property and am happy they gave me a second chance. Ever since that that day I have been good.
Lastly I’m never goanna forget all the friends I made. I’m going to miss all my teachers that taught me so much. I’m going to miss playing with all my teammates. Finally I am going to miss waking up in the morning just to go to school.

The Lessons I Learned From My Parents

“The Best Lessons That My Parent Ever Taught Me”

When my parents used to tell me that I would eventually have to learn how to be independent I knew it was a lesson I would never forget.

Being“Independent” for me was like being alone, crying with no one around me confused about life with out money, a job, or depending on a guy, something a lot of girls my age do. That’s what I thought I was gonna do if I lived with out papa or mama, but this wasn’t what my parents meant.

For my parents “Independent” meant, that I have to be responsible for my actions, think twice before I do something, always had in mind that my actions will lead me to consequences, and I will be the only one responsible for what I choose to do. They told me that if I wanted to succeed in life I will never give up no matter how hard the circumstances were, that if I want something I will had to have the courage, and if I decide to get together with someone this will lead me to an unhappy life.
They knew that what I hated the most was some one that tries to control me. I remember that my dad used to tell me “ if you don’t have a career or a job and you depend on a man, he is gonna think he has the right to mistreat you, because he supports you with food and a place to live, and if he feels that im getting apart of him he will get me pregnant and then I wouldn't be able to leave him because I will have a kid, no career, and no place to go.

My Choices

My Choice
Teens don’t like people telling them what to do because they think that they already know what they are doing. How do I know his? When I was in my early teen years I did not like other adults telling me what to do and neither did the friends that I would hang around with. For teens it's very hard to follow their curfew hour because in this case they would prefer to hang outside in the street with their homies.
In other occasions, teens have suffered and becomes victims of a crime as well for their families just because there son was out pass the government curfew, playing basketball. A bullet fired by a gang member trying to hit one of its own rivals hit the child. The teen was seen playing basketball and unaware of the situation until shots were fired. The ambulance arrived, and then later the police informed his parents why their son did not arrive home last night, because their child was a victim of crime.

Bonnie and Clyde

Bonnie and Clyde

Bonnie Parker was born on October 1, 1910 in Rowena, Texas.  She was the second of three children. In 1924 she entered Cement City High School and even won the Cement City Spelling Championship.  Clyde Chestnut Barrow was born on March 24, 1909 in Telico, Texas.  He was the third youngest of eight children.  Clyde never went past the fifth grade.
Clyde’s father was a farmer and had to bring his children up in poverty.  The family could not afford the farm anymore, so they moved to the poorest area in West Dallas.  Clyde went to visit an old girlfriend who had broken her arm and that is where he met a women whose name was Bonnie Parker.  Bonnie met Clyde while she was helping her neighbor with her housework.  Bonnie fell instantly in love with him but before they really got to know each other Clyde was arrested for burglary and was put in jail.  While he was in jail, Clyde asked Bonnie to smuggle a gun into his cell, and that is exactly what she did.  Clyde robbed numerous stores in Illinois in 1930 but was caught again and was sentenced to two years.
After his sentence was finished in 1932 he and Bonnie were reunited once again, because Bonnie loved Clyde, she joined him in robbing small businesses.  Clyde and Raymond Hamilton, a vicious murderer, and Frank Clause formed a new gang.  They planned to rob a convenience store but something went wrong and it turned out to be a murder.  By accident, Raymond Hamilton pulled the trigger while he was pointing it at the clerk; Clyde knew he could not turn himself in so he decided to continue with his criminal life.  Bonnie joined up with Clyde in Dallas where they committed more robberies together.
Hamilton left them several months later and was replaced by William Daniel Jones in November 1932.  Ivan M. “Buck” Barrow, Clyde’s brother was released from Texas State Prison on March 23, 1933.  He quickly joined Clyde, bringing his wife, Blanche, so the group now being five people. They escaped capture in various encounters with the law.  During a shootout with the police in Iowa on July 29, 1933, Buck was fatally wounded and Blanche was captured.  Jones, who was mistaken for “Pretty Boy” Floyd, was captured in November 1933 in Houston, Texas by the sheriffs.  Bonnie and Clyde went on together.
Bonnie and Clyde drove across five states Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Louisiana, and New Mexico.  They usually stayed close to the border to aid their getaway, knowing the fact that police at that time could not cross state borders to follow a criminal.  To avoid being captured, Clyde would change cars frequently by stealing a new one and changed license plates even more frequently.

BHS Problems

B.H.S Problems

Bell High School has many problems. One problem is that they are giving bad food. I suggest they  give healthy food and fresh chicken from El Pollo Loco . They also are reducing the ketchup and juice. Sometimes the milk is expired and it tastes really bad. I think they should look at milk boxes before they put them in the cafeteria because the students sometimes don’t look at the date of the box milk and that is how people get sick. I know that some people don’t care if others get sick or even die. But in this case they ought to be careful because they are giving expired milk.
Also the food is not really cooked and I think that the chicken is not real. Why am I saying this? I am saying this because the chicken is old and is not fresh. It’s too dry. One day, my friend ate my chicken wings and he got chorrillo so he was absent for two days.
In my opinion I think that the principal should change the rules because the school is going down like this. Also they ought to fire them because they aren’t doing their work as they must do. If I were the principal I will serve good food. They should accept this menu for the week. On Mondays El Pollo Loco, Tuesdays Jack’s hamburgers, Wednesdays breaded shrimps, Thursdays tacos de carne azada and Fridays wet burritos from El King Taco and a cold coke with the food. If they change the menu, things are going to be better for all of us. Now the students won’t be absent many times because they are going to come only to eat this food of the menu. Don’t you think that you would enjoy this food every day if you were a student? That’s what I want the principal to do before I get out of the school.

Attitudes Towards the CST 5

                                                My Attitude Towards the CST

The CST is the test that tells the schools how much you have learned in the past few years or so. Many teachers have told me that it does not affect us. Knowing that, I didn’t really care for taking the test. I didn’t even read half the questions nor the answers.
Being told the CST doesn’t affect us is a lie. It affects us indirectly. The score on the test shows how well the school is doing but if one of every five students gets a really low score, it affects the over all score of all of them. Same thing goes for the rest of the students. Lets say the ratio is 4:1, four that have a good score and one that has a really low score. That really low score affects the good ones and brings their over all percent down a lot.
Teachers have said try your best but its ok if you don’t do well. What they should really be telling the students is do your best and you will pass with ease. Possibly not passing the students that score low should be told they wont graduate; only then would they be a little more compelled to try harder. News of not letting students graduate would anger parents but it would also get some parents to be more encouraging towards getting their children to do well on these tests.
The school depends on these scores for its credibility. If the district notices that the students don’t keep up with other schools in the district they will have to do something about what to with the school. Would they get rid of the teachers or sell the school to a private school district? If the school loses its credit, the seniors wouldn’t be able to get their diploma then there would be a lot of parents asking why their children cant graduate. The school would be able to say that the students didn’t do well on these tests so they lost their credit and can’t give diplomas any more! First to be blamed would be the teachers but nobody would blame the students since they come to school to learn. However that is just a lie, most students come to socialize with each other.
The students will never fully take it seriously enough to completely do their best on the CST. There should be some consequences for not doing well on the test. Students need to know the real consequences of not trying.

Rap Legends

One of the big influences in my life is rap music. The rap legends that been in the rap game for years: two rappers were dissing each other from east coast rap star Bigge Smalls and west coast rapper 2pac. 2pac and Biggie became rivals when rap star 2pac was shot in the studio and that’s when 2pac did not trust anyone anymore. That’s when 2pac thought it was the east coast that had set him up. The game was active and people from the east and west coast were dyeing.

Love and Life

The writer of “Love and Life” is John Wilmont and he talks about his love life, he says, “in the world there’s false hearts”.  “Then talk not of in constancy, false hearts, and broken vows”, he says “All my past life is mine no more” which means his past life don’t live no more.

John Wilmont tone sounds depressed.  “All my past life is mine no more” John Wilmont, sounds sad like there’s no point of love because it’s fake what people feel, Could it be? There is life but not love.  “Love and life” is a very powerful poem; people believe and say there is no life without love.
