BILL GATES

At age 13 he was enrolled in the Lakeside School, which was a preparatory school. In 8th grade he went to a club to use the old school computers. He was eventually kicked out of the club because they used to charge 25 cents for an hour. He eventually found out how to hack the computers to give him more time. When they caught on to his little scandal. Bill Gates was kicked out. At age 18 Bill Gates went to Harvard University. He met his partner Paul Allen.  Bill Gates wanted to start a career in Microsoft and he eventually became a Harvard drop out.  He had a revolutionary Idea. His idea would change the perspective people had on technology.  Bill Gates started to work on computers at a young age. He used 32-bit type of programming. He also made computers affordable for a family. Prices from $1,000.00 to $250.00. Eventually he created and found the company Microsoft. In current times Microsoft’s biggest competitor is Apple. The type of software created was called Windows. His invention basically turned him into a multi billionaire. His 32 bit programming made it easier for people to use the computer. In the old days learning how to use a computer wasn’t as simple as it is now. You needed to have knowledge in programming to use the older generations of computers.

How this relates to history is because Bill Gates almost got a perfect score on the SAT. “Gates graduated from Lakeside School in 1973. He scored 1590 out of 1600 on the SAT” (GatesFoundation). What this quote shows is that he was intelligent. He also led the Technological Boom, which basically was the rise of computers. “Gates' role at Microsoft for most of its history was primarily a management and executive role. However, he was an active software developer in the early years, particularly on the company's programming language” (GatesFoundation).  Bill Gates also was an entrepreneur for technological advances. Thanks to him, computers boomed at an early age.
