My grandpa’s name was Cutbeto Contreras. He was born around 1915 1920 and work with Fidel Castro in a bus line station before Castro left to Cuba. The reason Fidel came to Mexico was to help his brother Raul Castro. ”Imprisoned for a year, he then traveled to Mexico, and with the aid of his brother Raúl Castro and friend Che Guevara, he assembled together a group of Cuban revolutionaries, the July 26 Movement.”(wiki) He needed a job there to try and stay low while he planned to team up Che and Raul to rebel against Fulgencio Batista. He also needed some money to help pay for his finances. Things like guns and supplies for the Cuban revolution. “Returning with them to Cuba, he took a key role in the Cuban Revolution, leading a successful guerrilla war against Batista's forces, with Batista himself fleeing into exile in 1959.”(wiki) My grandpa never saw him after he quit but sooner or later he would hear the news that Fidel Castro was now prime minster of Cuba.
