People are Becoming Less Intelligent

People through out time have evolved from what’s around them. This comes to an important topic which we focus on. People are always trying to improve our society to have better lifestyles. But many questions are still asked about how smart or reliable on technology should we become.
People have now opened their minds and are contributing to new possibilities for not only exploring the world but beyond our knowing. By making new ideas for improvements to society it helps us get to the next level and be advanced for our time. Such ideas as getting people to use technology on a daily bases has impacted our life. Over the last 10 years technology has come to the point in which 9 out of 10 people use technical devices on a daily bases. In the article “How technology affects people” by Daniel Montana. Daniel states, “as a culture we are focused too much on bits of technology and we often forget to look at the big picture- how technology impacts our cultures”. This means that we sometimes focus so much on technology that we don’t see what is happening around us and the world. We enjoy adapting to new technology because we find it easier to use technological equipment that will do the work for us. Others disagree about technology’s use in such ways because its makes the human population dumb, lazy and let alone depending on a computer to function and monomer our lives.
“Weaker and lazier as we fall”. We have let weakness, overcome are brains. In recent studies it shows we’ve become less intelligent in the pass 10 years. In these studies it indicates the brains function have decreased due to lack of exercising the brain. For example not using our heads to study not reading or simply finding a new way to avoid using our brains. We have turned to the computer to make all of our decisions. As a human species have big shoes to fill and can’t go back to living in caves. It’s going to be hard work to use our brains more often, but by working together anything is possible.
“Laziness a disinclination to activity or exertion despite having the ability to do so”. It’s the number one word describing human reaction and time consuming in a life today. Laziness is a problem that has to be solved. Laziness can lead to large soars and obesity. We are strong as one, we’ve been through wars, natural disasters and yet we’re still breathing. This is just the beginning of life towards a technologic future than so be it. But remembering we our still humans that can gain intelligence from technology just as easily as we can lose it. Someone once told me “if you don’t use it you loose it.” I think it’s time to not take it as a joke but as a message.
Technology in our society can always be a helping hand. Even if it might change the world’s way of functioning, it’ll only be for a moment or at least I hope. Both new and old generations, must not forget where we came from and how we started with a bone in a cave, to a phone in a house.

  1. You did a great job of citing one of the sources you used from an article. However, whenever you use a quote you should always provide the source. Your essay seemed very broad and did not focus on any particular topic. If you want to write about how technology has made the population lazier, include examples of these items (ipod, ipad, cell phone) and what the disadvantages are. You might also want to include the health affects of the obesity that results from laziness and what you think we should do to keep people from going down the same path.
