My Father

My dad José Orozco came to the United States to get a better life. He came in the late 1970’s when he was 17 years old. Jose would just work in little dinners in long beach. Jose came for one good reason and it was to for he can get a better life. . He told me, “I wanted to work good here to help my family in México”. With his hard work he did make it come true. My dad would take mostly any job and kept going at it he was a very hard worker he would never get tired. He said that, “as long as I have work I have nothing to worry about because I would just save my money and not waste it on dumb things like cigarettes and alcohol drinks”. That’s good because if you add up the money you waste a lot of money a year. If for any reason they laid him off first thing in the morning he would go early to go find work. Every month he sent my grandpa money to buy things he needed. He would work in restaurants and the owner wasn’t paying him what he deserved and to little hours even though “Unemployment stayed close to its natural rate -- at any time 4 or 5 percent of people are unemployed -- during the first half of the 1970s. After 1974, unemployment averaged 7.9 percent and some years saw the rate reach more than 9 percent, according to the BLS” {ehow.com}.Jose just didn’t want to lose his job. He just decided to leave from there and when he did the owner saw he was actually losing money because he had to hire more people to do the jobs. So the owner called my dad and told him to come back and my dad did. After when he was 25 years old he started to work in construction. He worked in construction for 25 years.” Immigrants account for nearly 30 percent of construction workers {ehow.com}”. Before he came he lived in Arandas Jalisco with his grandparents because my grandma died giving birth and my grandpa was leaving to Léon Guanajuato  but dad just stayed with his grandpa.

My father
My dad was the best worker
He never gave up
Always working never stopping
Construction was his passion
Everyday lifting drywall
Trying to put food on the table
Filling me up with joy to make me happy
Happiness was one thing he really gave us
Caring for me
Loving me
Kissing me to show how much he cared
Showing he was just one of a kind
Thinking back now what more of a dad did I want

My Dad

My dad Jose Hernandez Lopez was born in august 23 1975 in Mexico Tijuana. When he was 9 years old his mother died of a heart problem. He was placed in the care of his aunt who started him working at a very young age.  Then he drop out of school and started working a full time job. Then at the age of 16 he joins the Mexican army. His duty was to scout the mountain to find marijuana plant and to destroy them. It was mandated by the government that illegal substances be controlled. He cut them and burn them to prevent the drug cartel. He did that for a year in a half and then returns home. When he turn 18 he and his sister decided to come to the U.S to leave there past behind. He starts to work as a baker, then a construction worker. Then he tried truck driving, which is what he wanted to do.  Then at the age of 36 he finds out he is suffering a disease call bipolar. This relate to history because presidents around the world are stopping the drug selling business. For example president of Mexico in 1993, Salinas started working with the U.S to stop it.” Mexico insists that the trackffing in the U.S won’t grow a enormous amount”. (U.S library of congress) “Americans large truck radar deploy at the border or on the highway”.

Agriculture

My father, Agripino Ramirez Vasquez was born on June 22, 1946. He grew up in a ranch located in San Juan De Los Lagos, Jalisco, Mexico. As a young child he started working on the fields with the help of his 17 brothers and sisters. Him and his siblings were working to support the family and always cooperating together. It was really tough in those times because it was long hours in the hot sun with very poor materials and equipment compared to the improvement of modern machinery and technology that is invented now. They would run establishments that produce crops, livestock, dairy products, and take care of the animals they owned.

My dad was a very hardworking, punctual, strong man and would do a lot of manual labor himself. He would plant corn, potatoes, beans, yams, and other types of vegetables and other fruits. He was very responsible and always made sure they were alive. He would always keep track of the environment and have it in good condition. Sometimes it would be harsh due to the climate changes during the seasons. “Cropping systems vary among farms depending on the available resources and constraints; geography and climate of the farm; government policy; economic, social and political pressures; and the philosophy and culture of the farmer.”

My dad’s duty was also to take care of all the farm animals such as horses, pigs, ducks, sheep, chicken, cows, bees, fish, goats and many more. He would use these animals mostly for food and business. He would milk cows and also make cheese out of them. He would shave off the sheep’s fur and use it to make warm clothes. He would take care of the chickens and wait for them to hatch eggs. Then, later kill the chickens and roast them to eat for dinner and as well with the eggs. Bees were used for the honey. He would gather up jars and fill them up with honey to sell them and make money. He would go fishing for fishes to eat. The goats would provide good milk and cheese. Pigs were usually meant to be killed and eat their meat. “Farm animals are animals that are kept for agricultural purposes. This includes such domesticated animals as cows and chickens, and wild animals that are raised in confinement, including mink and fish. Animals are farmed for a variety of reasons. Most were raised to be killed. Meat from cattle, hogs, and chickens provides the bulk of protein.”

I’m very inspired by my father and his life because it showed me to give more value to my life and never give up. He grew up in a poorly environment and doing harsh labor work. I admire him because he failed many times but he never lost hope and always tried his best. My father influences me to stay positive in hard times, give it your all, and always be a go getter. My one and only hero, Agripino Ramirez Vasquez. I love you papi.

Andrew Reynolds was born on June 6, 1978, in Lakeland, Florida. He has a regular stance which means he kicks with his left and pops with his rights. He is also the owner of Baker Skateboards and has 8 pro model shoes. Andrew has been skating since he was 9, and won thrasher Magazines [“Andrew Reynolds”] “Skater of the Year”, award in 1998. He also suffers from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, which he refers to “The Madness”. Before he does a trick, he has to do something 3 times, whether it’s tapping his shoe 3 times or calling out someone’s name 3 times. If he doesn’t do that he panics and messes up his motivation.   Reynolds was best known for his front side flips. He found skating off high ledges and big stair more comfortable [Cave, Steve] than skating vertical ramps. In 2005, he heel flipped and front side flipped 17 stairs [“Andrew Reynolds”]. Reynolds has been known for going all out when it comes to skateboarding.

My mom worked at the market selling fruits and vegetables and my dad worked fixing roads so he was never at home. Since I was the oldest brother, I had to take care of my brothers and make sure they do all the tasks my mother gave us. I was around sixteen years old my the civil war broke out. The war was not that bad from where we lived, but I got to see thing I’ve never seen before.in the San Salvador, the capital of El Salvador, hundreds of people got killed every day. We used to go to San Salvador with my mom and my brothers every weekend to buy food and stuff for the house. My little brothers and I got really scared every time we saw dead people on the streets. My mom used to tell us to close our eyes every time we saw a dead person. But the truth is that I never covered my eyes. I was a very curious guy. Even if I was scared, I kept watching the dead bodies and wondering how they looked when they were alive. I used to have nightmares of my little brother Vicente being beheaded before my eyes. But I thank God nothing bad happened to us during that time.

My Father's Life Story

My dad, Elmer Cruz, was born in Cuscatlan, El Salvador on May 20, 1962. He is the oldest of five brothers. When he lived in El Salvador, when he was around seventeen, had to take care of his brothers and make sure they did all the tasks her mother gave the. His mom worked at the market selling fruit and vegetables and his dad worked fixing roads so he was never at home. He was around seventeen when the civil war broke out. “Significant tensions and violence had already existed, before the civil war's full outbreak, over the course of the 1970s” (NCW). The war was not that bad where my dad and his family lived but he saw things he’d never seen before. They used to go to San Salvador every weekend to get some food and stuff for the house. It was really dangerous to go to the capital at that time because many people got killed every day but it was more like a necessity for them to go there and buy cheaper food. “Countless disappeared and More than 75,000 people were killed” (ES). A few years later, my dad decided to come to the United States and work to help his parents and brother.

Civil War in El Salvador
The Salvadoran Civil War (1980–1992) was a conflict in El Salvador between the military-led government of El Salvador and the Farabundo Martí National Liberation Front (FMLN), a coalition or umbrella organization of five left-wing guerrilla groups. Significant tensions and violence had already existed, before the civil war's full outbreak, over the course of the 1970s. El Salvador's Civil War was the second longest civil war in Latin America after the Guatemalan Civil War. The United States supported the Salvadoran military dictatorship. The conflict ended in the early 1990s. Countless disappeared and More than 75,000 people were killed.
Since the early thirties, El Salvador had been ruled by the military with support from the country's landed elite. Military leaders had been pro-fascist during World War II, but by the 1950s at least some of them were leaning more toward the values of those who won that war. Some younger officers had reformist views, and, beginning in 1956, a military-civilian coalition took power, led by a reform-minded lieutenant colonel, José María Lemus. El Salvador’s agricultural elite and more conservative military officers said the government was influenced by Communism. Castro took power in Cuba in 1959, and, in January, 1961, these more conservative officers took power in a coup and announced their anti-Communist and anti-Castro convictions. The new regime promised elections, and in 1962 the junta’s candidate, Lieutenant Colonel Julio Adalberto Rivera, was elected president, and he was succeeded in 1967 by Colonel Fidel Sánchez Hernández.

My Great Grandfather's Story

My Great Grandfather's Story

My great grandpa died at the age of 67 of diabetes.  When he was around his 20s he was forced to join the Mexican army with his brother he was forced by his dad. He didn’t want to but he didn’t have a choice. In the 1910 his first fight began in the Mexican revolution. The Mexican revolution started because there was a huge disagreement of the dictatorship. They were about to shoot my great grandpa but luckily the enemy missed. When he saw a bullet flying thru the air and it was about to touch his brother he didn’t think it twice. He “flew” to save his brother’s life and the bullet went thru his leg. They took him to the emergency room and they amputated his leg. At first he couldn’t believe he didn’t have a leg but then he didn’t care because it was worth saving his brother. They just had to send him home.
The Mexican Revolution was a major armed struggle that started in 1910, with an uprising led by Francisco I Madero against longtime autocrat Porifrio Diaz, and lasted for the better part of two decades until around 1929. The Revolution was characterized by several socialist, liberal, anarchist, populist, and agrarian movements. Over time the Revolution changed from a revolt against the established order to a multi-sided civil war. This armed conflict is often categorized as the most important sociopolitical event in Mexico and one of the greatest upheavals of the 20th century”. (Wikipedia) “After prolonged struggles, its representatives produced the Mexican Constitution of 1917. The Revolution is generally considered to have lasted until 1920, although the country continued to have sporadic, but comparatively minor, outbreaks of warfare well into the 1920s. The Cristero War of 1926 to 1929 was the most significant relapse into bloodshed”. (Wikipedia)

Frank Chavez and the Assassination of President Kennedy

Frank Chavez and the Assassination of JFK

My grandfather’s name is Frank Chavez and he was born in Williowbrook, California in 1924. He remembers the assassination of the 35th president John F Kennedy like it was yesterday. He was shot right between his eyes and died “on Friday, November 22, 1963 in Dealey Plaza, Dallas, Texas” while rushed to the hospital “The staff at Parkland Hospital's Trauma Room 1 who treated Kennedy observed that his condition was "moribund” (wikepdia).Kennedy was shot while in a car with his wife( Jacqueline)   and governor of Texas John Connally,. There was a ten-month investigation for his assassination by the F.B.I 1963–1964. The F.B.I said Lee Harvey Oswald assassinated president John F Kennedy but Oswald was killed before trial. Because of Oswald’s death and evidence such the flawed FBI data. Because of the many missing and strange death of witnesses of the assassination of John F Kennedy, many Americans believe in the conspiracy of John F Kennedy assassination. With evidence against the assassination missing or incomplete, we may never know what the cause of the assassination was or if there was a conspiracy. What we do know he was one of the greatest presidents who died to early in his role of president. Who know what he could have done for this country if he remained president.
