Domestic Violence Against Women

Domestic Violence against women is a big problem around the world. Not only does it affect women but also their family members and most important their kids. Domestic violence can take many forms, including emotional, sexual and physical abuse and threats of abuse. Men think that they are superior from women’s but we are all equal.
Some men’s have anger issues and they take their frustrations of their wife’s. When they get home from work if there is no food they get all violent and they start hitting their wife for no reason. Instead of helping them cook so they could have a better relationship.
Women not only get physical abuse but also verbal abuse. Men don’t understand that being women is a very difficult thing. When women get pregnant and they have the baby they gain weight and some men start calling them names but they don’t realize that it is hard to lose the baby’s weight when you have to do everything. For example, take care of the kids, clean the house, work, and do the food. So there is no time to do exercise.
Other examples of domestic violence are:
·      Calls you names, insults you or puts you down
·      Prevents you from going to work or school
·      Stops you from seeing family members or friends
·      Tries to control how you spend money, where you go, what medicines you take or what you wear
·      Acts jealous or possessive or constantly accuses you of being unfaithful
·      Gets angry when drinking alcohol or using drugs
·      Threatens you with violence or a weapon
·      Hits, kicks, shoves, slaps, chokes or otherwise hurts you, your children or your pets
·      Forces you to have sex or engage in sexual acts against your will
·      Blames you for his or her violent behavior or tells you that you deserve it
·      Portrays the violence as mutual and consensual (Mayoclinic.com/health/Domestic Violence)
According to the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control, women experience about 4.8 million intimate partner-related physical assaults and rapes every year. Less than 20 percent of battered women sought medical treatment following an injury.
Women need to speak up and not be afraid they should call the police every time they get abused so men can get punished for what they are ding to women because we are all equal.
